Is graduating degree accounted for job after MBA?

Is one's graduation degree accounted for the job which we get after doing MBA. Meaning, does it makes a difference between the salaries of two persons if one has done engineering from local college and the other from an IIT. Also if one is an economics graduate and the other has done engineering, then do the salaries of the two differ if both do MBA from an IIM or universities like Harvard, Stanford etc.
